The Birthday Assembly

Thank you to all the parents that joined us for the Birthday Assembly on Friday.  It was a lovely event and an opportunity for us to celebrate the traditions and history of Sherrardswood School.

Mimi Wiscarson, Head Girl, read a beautiful speech about her excitement for the upcoming High School Musical performance, not just because it is jolly good fun, but because of the way it brings the school together.  Unfortunately, Head Boy, Archie was poorly and was unable to join the celebrations.  Amy and George, our longest serving students (both joining in PreSchool and now in Upper Sixth and Year 11 respectively) and Aanya and Winston, our youngest students, lit the candles on the Birthday cake and the rendition of Happy Birthday was led by Sean, another very long serving student.  Hannah performed Lullaby and the choir were in full voice for High Hopes.

I was pleased to be able to show parents the beautiful picture that I commissioned from Adam Barsby, my favourite artist, over the summer. Named by a student ‘A Pocket of Happiness’, I am delighted with it. I believe it reflects the happy and safe atmosphere that we are lucky enough to experience here at Sherrardswood. Several parents have asked me if it is possible to get prints for themselves and Adam is happy to produce a limited number.  Please let Mrs Green know if you would be interested in buying one.  lgreen@sherrardswood.co.uk.  They are sized at 15cm by 15cm (so much smaller than the original) and priced at £80 fully framed.  Mr Capuano has an example in his office
