On Mersea Island

On Monday morning we arrived promptly for lunch and the first activities. After a two hour coach journey the students soon were split into activity groups and were raring to go. The six groups all completed rock climbing and an adventure course, where they had to work as a team to overcome the different obstacles. Essex Outdoor leaders were full of praise on how they communicated with each other and worked with different people’s strength.

The evening was soon upon us and a coastal walk it was.  The students loved having time to explore the shore line and watch the baby crabs and find suitable shells for a group photo. This was such a lovely way to end a very successful first day. Tuesday came and went with students completing a whole host of activities. The six activity groups conquered; Caving, Archery, Off Road Biking, High Ropes, and Team Challenges. We were so proud of the student’s resilience in tackling different activities and the maturity in supporting team mates.

Students were prompt packing everything up first thing, Wednesday morning making the whole day as smooth as it could be. ‘It’s a knockout’ was our first activity as a whole group and the students loved it! They climbed their way through a range of inflatables, knocked each other over and scrambled through the netting to the finish line. Students closed off the trip celebrating Aiden's birthday with a picnic and some birthday cake.
What a fabulous trip that truly demonstrated the strong characters and energetic personalities of two year groups. All students were a true credit to the school
