On Wednesday, 28 September 2016, we celebrated our 88th birthday with our annual Birthday Assembly.
We were delighted to welcome so many parents and families, as well as former pupils and members of the Sherrardswood Old Scholars Association.
During the assembly, we enjoyed a number of musical highlights, including our school choir, as well as the Head Boy and Head Girl speeches, presenting the history of Sherrardswood. Tea and coffee in the Ballroom for parents, families and friends rounded off a wonderful celebration.
The picture shows some of the pupils during the assembly, wearing the traditional rose as a sign of "love and interest in the school" (Ethel Joy Wragg, Founder of Sherrardswood School). This tradition goes back to the early years of Sherrardswood and it is the reason the rose features on our school logo.
